Eurycoma Longifolia - Herb and Sexual Stimulant
Eurycoma Longifolia has been widely used in Asia for centuries as a cure for
erectile dysfunctions and low libido.
Eurycoma has also been shown to elevate the energy system and increase an individuals metabolic rate and enhance blood
circulation. These factors contribute to the heat-generating characteristic of Eurycoma.
Eurycoma incites the testes to produce more testosterone on their own by sending signal to the hypothalamus and the
pituitary glands, and not by supplying exogenous testosterone.
Synthetic testosterone (anabolic steroids) can supplement your body with testosterone, but steroids interfere awkwardly
with
male sexuality, causing penile and testicular
shrinkage. When testosterone levels are elevated, the
sex hormones (androgens and estrogens)
will signal your body to decrease or stop its own testosterone production, this is call "negative feedback".
Increasing Levels of Testosterone
In one study, a product containing Eurycoma was found capable of markedly improving
testosterone production in men. In a test with 11 male subjects
with hypogonadism, the average testosterone increase after
1 month of regular consumption of the product was 50%.
Initial studies at higher doses on both hypogonadal and healthy male subjects show increased testosterone boosting ability.
In human studies, analysis of the DHEA showed gradual increase in the level from 26% after 1 week to 47% in 3 weeks. SHBG
analysis showed decrease in level from 36% after 1 week to 66% after 3 weeks. Consequently, when the SHBG level declines,
the Free Testosterone Index goes up in most subjects. This increase in
Free Testosterone indicates that it has a
bio-stimulatory effect on steroidogensis, meaning that Eurycoma has the ability to enhance testosterone biosynthesis.
Compared to other Natural Sexual Stimulants
Some years ago, traditional herbalists from several Asian countries researched three highly-rated aphrodisiac herbs - the
African herb Yohimbe, Ginseng and Eurycoma Longifolia - to determine their effectiveness in the treatment of
male impotence.
After exhaustive research, it was concluded that Eurycoma Longifolia was, by far, the most effective of the three. Thereby
dispelling the myth that Yohimbe is the best herbal aphrodisiac
in the world.
It is also interesting to note that although Yohimbe is a proven herbal aphrodisiac that works well, medical professionls
caution against the continued use of it as it has been shown to cause very unpleasant side effects like palpitation,
vomiting, insomnia, body aches and aggressive behavior. While Yohimbe is not illegal in the US, it is banned in many
countries throughout the world.
Description
Eurycoma Longifolia (Simaroubaceae) is a small tree to measuring up to 15 m in hight. Plants are dioecious (flowers on a
plant are either male or female). Leaves compound, long, and crowded at the tips of the branches. When the leaves fall they
leave large scars on the stems.
Leaflets are ovate-lanceolate, sessile or nearly so, and opposite. Flowers are borne in axillaries panicles, mostly large
and lax and puberulous with short hairs. Flowers are unisexual; male flower has sterile pistil, female flower has sterile
stamens. Fruits ellipsoid or ovoid, 10-20 x 5-12 mm, green to blackish-red when ripe.
Ecology
Eurycoma Longifolia prefers acid and sandy
soils at low altitude up to 700 m above sea level. Plants usually grow in beach forests, primary and secondary forests,
mixed dipterocarp forests and also in heath forests. In Riau Province, Sumatra, 1991, the author found that plants were
growing in areas with an average temperature of 25C and 86% humidity. The soils in this area were found to be poor in
nutrients, but mycorrhizal fungi were found growing near the plants and may indicate an association. Seedlings require
shade during which time they develop an extensive root system. Following juvenile stages, plants need stronger light
to develop vegetative and reproductive parts. E. Longifolia flowers and fruits throughout the year, with peak flowering
from June-July and peak fruiting in September.
The other complimentary herbs are well-known for their use in the treatment of
sexual dysfunctions and poor blood circulation.
Each LIBIDUS capsule contains:
Eurycoma Longifolia (154 mg) - Said to be the most potent herbal aphrodisiac available, Eurycoma has been shown to
incite the testes to increase testosterone production by signaling to the hypothalamus and the pituitary glands. Increasing
levels of testosterone in men has been shown to improve sex drive and
sexual performance, lift one’s mood and
increase libido. Is also used in Eastern pharmacopia to boost energy levels and overcoming lethargy and fatigue.

Invigorates blood supply to genitals, removes blood stasis and relieves pain.
Rhizoma Cucurmae Longae (49 mg) - Helps to eliminate blood stasis, promote the flow of "qi" to genital area and
relieve pain
Ginkgo Biloba (49 mg) - A popular herb which has been shown to increases blood flow to capillaries through out the
body. Has a potent relaxing effect on vascular smooth muscle and improves blood supply to corpus cavernosum (the erectile
chambers) which is helpful for erectile dysfunction
.
Has also been used to treat peripheral vascular disease. Improves oxygenated blood flow to the brain and other organs to
strengthen heart, lungs, skin and genitals.
Herba Epimedii (24.5 mg) - A well-known herb that has been used for centuries to treat impotence, involuntary
